ABOUT….

Dr Glenn Pereira trained in Sydney, with the RFDS (WA) and with significant international medical aid experience with Medicines Sans Frontieres, Dr Pereira lives in Forbes with his wife and five children (three of whom were born in Forbes!). He is passionate about Rural Generalist Medicine and believes that continuity of care is one of the most valuable strengths of his practice, for patients and doctor alike. He feels privileged to care for patients and their families from the excitement and stresses of birth through to the ‘bitter sweetness’ of the end of life.

SPECIALITIES

General Practice, Obstetrics & women’s health, Palliative Care & pain management, Anaesthesia & Emergency care. He teaches medical students, registrars and is an instructor of Early Management of Severe Trauma with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He is a senior lecturer with the graduate school of medicine, University of Wollongong.

Dr Hemant Mahagaonkar

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ABOUT…

Specialising in anaesthesia, Dr Hemant has had 40 years’ experience in the field of anaesthesia and has worked as a anaesthetist UK, Africa, India and New Zealand.

Dr Hemant is also an instructor for the Rural Emergency Skills training program, run by the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine, along with being involved with the ongoing training of registrars within the practice and has also been appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer to the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Wollongong.

Dr Hemant is on the register for Yellow Fever and Q Fever vaccinations.

SPECIALITIES

As part of a special rural obstetric anaesthetic group, Dr Hemant is on-call for his anaesthetic services at the Forbes District Hospital, and occasionally at the Parkes District Hospital.

ABOUT

After 16 months in the bleak, windy, wet and cold valleys of North Wales, Dr Somes moved to Forbes in the lush Lachlan Valley to commence a Rural General Medical Practice in 1992.

In the subsequent years he has been nominated for an excellence in Medical Teaching award by the Australian National University and received awards for Distinguished Service from the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and has taken out the “Best Wine in Show” at the Bedgerabong Show.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-graduate qualifications in:

·         General Practice (FRACGP)

·         Rural Medicine (FACRRM)

·         Obstetrics (DRACGS)

·         Anaesthetics (MRCA)

Dr Somes has also been appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer to the University of Sydney as well as the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Wollongong.
